PHILLIPS – The community tree-lighting celebration will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec 7, with horse and wagon rides and Christmas caroling. Doughnuts and hot beverages will be served at the Phillips Community House. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be coming to town on their A.T.V.

The event is sponsored by the Phillips Chamber of Commerce with support and donations from the community.

College aid

JAY – A financial aid information presentation for parents of Jay High School seniors will be given at 7 p.m. Thursday night, Dec. 11, in the Jay High School Library.

Ron Miliken, director of financial aid at the University of Maine at Farmington, will present information on the financial aid application process, types and sources of financial aid and will also be able to respond to questions.
