Bloodmobile
RUMFORD – The American Red Cross bloodmobile will be at the American Legion Hall, 184 Congress St., from 12:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16. As an additional safeguard against winter shortage, Tom Miller, donor recruitment representative from the Red Cross, suggests bringing a friend or two to donate as well.
The Red Cross’ Maine Blood Services must collect 300 to 350 pints of blood daily to meet patients’ needs in the state.
First-time volunteer donors are needed to replace donors who have moved away or have become ineligible to donate. Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age, in generally good health and must weigh at least 110 pounds. For more information, contact the Red Cross at 1-800-482-0743.
