The four were charged after a robbery and car chase Tuesday.

PARIS – Four Massachusetts men who were arrested after a Tuesday armed robbery in Bethel entered no pleas at their arraignments Thursday in 11th District Court in South Paris.

Probable cause hearings were set for 8:30 a.m. Feb. 17 in Rumford District Court for Rockland, Mass. residents Daniel Shannon, 19, his brother Christopher Shannon, 21, David Brandolini Jr., 18, and Brian Kinlin, 19.

Daniel Shannon and Kinlin are charged with Class A armed robbery and receiving stolen property. Christopher Shannon and Brandolini are charged with possession of heroin.

Christopher Shannon was released on $750 cash bail after the arraignment. As of Friday afternoon, the other three men were still being held at the Oxford County Jail in South Paris.

Brandolini had not made his $750 cash bail. Neither had Daniel Shannon and Kinlin, with bail set in their cases at $100,000 single surety or $25,000 cash.

All four were staying at a Newry condo owned by the parents of the Shannon brothers when the younger Shannon and Kinlin allegedly robbed the Big Apple convenience store on Railroad Street, Bethel Police Chief Darren Tripp said. Daniel Shannon allegedly pointed a .22 semi-automatic pistol at a female clerk Tuesday afternoon and ordered her to empty the cash register.

The pair fled in a car with $583.37 in cash and checks, and were later caught by Paris police after they crashed into a tree on Route 26 in West Paris. Tripp said the pair told police they were on their way to Brockton, Mass., to buy more heroin.

Based on their statements, police executed a search warrant Tuesday night at the Shannon’s Newry condo. Inside the condo, they found Christopher Shannon and Brandolini allegedly in possession of needles, spoons and a small amount of heroin residue.

Tripp said the .22-caliber pistol used in the holdup was one of two guns stolen out of a private home in Rockland, Mass. The other gun was a Colt handgun, and has not been found, he said.

Tripp said he has been in touch with detectives in Rockland and Hanover, Mass. where armed robberies have taken place in the last few weeks.
