Martin St. Louis punches in the game-winner for Tampa Bay.

NEW YORK – Martin St. Louis had a goal and an assist in the decisive third period to lift the weary Tampa Bay Lightning to a 3-2 victory Sunday night over the New York Rangers.

St. Louis tied it with a breakaway goal during a power play, 1:26 into the period, then helped set up Cory Sarich for the game-winner at 8:23.

Dave Andreychuk scored for the third straight game to tie it for the Lightning in the first period. Andreychuk, 40, is 11th on the NHL career goal list with 617 and he moved within one game of tying John Bucyk for eighth place.

Anson Carter also scored for the third straight game, and Greg de Vries had his first with the Rangers, who lost for the third time in four games.

The Lightning followed up Saturday night’s 3-1 win at Buffalo by winning the third game played in four days. Complicating matters was the Northeast snowstorm this weekend that forced the Lightning to stay in Buffalo on Saturday and not come until New York until Sunday morning.

They arrived about six hours before the puck dropped and held off the Rangers, who hadn’t played since a road win against the local Islanders on Thursday.

Tampa Bay has won the first two games of a three-game New York trip. The Lightning, who had lost the previous three games, play the Islanders on Tuesday.

St. Louis broke free 1:34 into a penalty to Vladimir Malakhov that spanned the second and third periods. He beat Mike Dunham’s outstretched right pad.

Blackhawks 2, Coyotes 2

CHICAGO – Shane Doan scored a power-play goal with 1:07 left in the third period to give the Phoenix Coyotes a 2-2 tie with the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday night.

With Chicago’s Scott Nichol off for roughing, Doan beat goalie Michael Leighton high on the glove side with a 30-foot shot.

Jeff Taffe also scored for the Coyotes. Brian Boucher made 37 saves, allowing only Kyle Calder’s two power-play goals off deflections in the third period.

Although the Blackhawks snapped an eight-game losing streak, their winless slide reached 14 games – their longest since 1959-60. They’re 0-9-2-3 during the slide.

Leighton made 14 saves.

Taffe opened the scoring on a power-play at 6:38 of the first period, beating Leighton between the legs. The goal ended an 0-for-32 Phoenix power-play drought.

Overlapping Phoenix penalties early in the second gave the Blackhawks a 2:42 power play, including 42 seconds with a two-man advantage.

Mighty Ducks 4, Stars 0

ANAHEIM, Calif. – Vaclav Prospal and Joffrey Lupul scored power-play goals 22 seconds apart in the second period and Martin Gerber made 32 saves for his third career shutout in the Anaheim Mighty Ducks’ 4-0 victory over Dallas on Sunday night.

Defenseman Kurt Sauer ended a 33-game goal drought and Sergei Fedorov added a short-handed goal in the third period to help the defending Western Conference champions snap a three-game losing streak. It was Dallas’ first visit to Anaheim since May 5, when the Ducks wrapped up their conference semifinal series in six games on a goal by Sandis Ozolinsh with 66 seconds left in regulation. Gerber, making his 10th start of the season, made a miraculous sprawling stop on Pierre Turgeon’s scoring bid after the goalie lost his stick midway through the third period.

Flames 6, Penguins 1

CALGARY, Alberta – Shean Donovan had three goals and an assist against his former Pittsburgh teammates, leading the Calgary Flames to a 6-1 victory over the Penguins on Sunday night.

Donovan capped his first career hat trick by converting a pass from Martin Gelinas with 1:14 left in the third period.

Acquired in a trade from Pittsburgh on March 11, 2002, Donovan has a six-game goal scoring streak – with nine goals and two assists during that span.

He’s tied with Detroit’s Brett Hull for the longest goal streak in the NHL this season and two games away from the club record. Jordan Leopold, Stephane Yelle and Oleg Saprykin also scored for Calgary. The Flames have won four in a row and have picked up points in 10 straight.

Milan Kraft scored for Pittsburgh, with lost its third straight game with two stops to go on a five-game road trip. They have lost nine of their last 10 away from home.

Miikka Kiprsoff made 21 saves to win his fourth in a row and improve to 6-1-0 since joining Calgary in a trade with San Jose three weeks ago.

Caron got the start for Pittsburgh on the same day that the Penguins announced that rookie Marc-Andre Fleury will be loaned to Canada for the upcoming world junior championships.

Notes: The Calgary record for consecutive games with a goal is eight, shared by Kent Nilsson (1983-84) and Gary Roberts (1992-93) … Green, recalled Saturday from Lowell of the AHL, made his Flames season debut in place of C Craig Conroy. Conroy will undergo an MRI on Monday after suffering a knee injury Friday night against Minnesota … With three injuries at center, LW Dean McAmmond played center for the first time this season, inheriting Conroy’s spot between Donovan and Gelinas.
