AUBURN – Fidelity Rebekah Lodge 4 will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, at the Odd Fellows Hall, Elm and Academy streets. Food will be collected for the local food pantry. All members are invited. Refreshments will be served prior to the meeting at 6:30 p.m.

Breakfast

AUBURN – Modern Woodmen of America Camp 8794 will sponsor a breakfast from 5 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, at Roy’s Hamburger on Minot Avenue. Tickets need to be purchased at 67 Minot Ave. Call 783-8804 for details.

Party, supper

AUBURN – The Androscoggin Valley Past Noble Grands Association will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, at the Odd Fellows Hall, Elm Street. A Christmas party will be held with a program by Sally Fournier. A potluck supper will be served at 6:30 by Supper Committee members Mary Jones, Joan Pike and Frances Robitaille. All past noble grands are invited.

Society dues are $5 yearly. Archive hours at 1 to 4 p.m. Thursdays. The public is welcome to the free meetings.

Seniors elect

AUBURN – The New Auburn Seniors elected officers for the year. They are Virginia Levasseur, president; Fern Bussiere, vice president; Irene Delorme, secretary; Delice Blais, treasurer; and Joyce Bickford, correspondence secretary.

Members met Dec. 3 with Levasseur presiding. The Christmas party at Martindale on Sunday, Dec, 14, will begin with a social hour at 11 a.m. followed by dinner at noon. Entertainment will be by the Golden Nuggetts.

Members are asked to put their names on their dinner tickets as there will be several drawings for gifts.

The club thanked all who helped with lunches, dinners, bingo and the newsletter. Pot of gold winners were Howard Buzzell, Pat Larose, Jackie Drapeau and Blanche Banks. The meeting adjourned with lunch served and bingo following.

There will be open bingo on Wednesdays, Dec. 10 and 17, for all seniors 60 and over starting at 12:30 p.m. at the St. Louis Church basement on Dunn Street.

Beekeepers

TOPSHAM – The Sagadahoc County Beekeeper’s Association will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, at the Topsham Grange Hall. A potluck/social is planned, and all attending are asked to bring a dish to share.

Yankee Swap

LISBON FALLS – The Lisbon Historical Society will hold its annual potluck supper and Yankee Swap for members and guests on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at the society’s meeting room and archives, 9 Union St. A social hour will be held at 6:30 p.m. and supper and swap at 7. Anyone taking part in the swap must bring a $5 wrapped gift. The storm date is Dec. 17.

TURNER – Leavitt Area High School and the American Red Cross will hold a blood drive from 8 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, at the high school auxiliary gym, Lower Street. Call the American Red Cross at 1-800-482-0743 to make an appointment or for more information.

Robin Dows

AUBURN – Robin Dow Seniors will meet on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at the Ramada Inn, Pleasant Street. Doors will open at 11 a.m.

The group held a Thanksgiving dinner party on Nov. 12 at the Ramada Inn with 86 attending. Audrey Fleming, president, was in charge. The traditional Thanksgiving theme was carried out on placemats decorated by member Irving Grant. Pot of gold winners were Alice White, Viola McGilvery, Eleanor Jewel, Nancy Roy Lucille Welch, Merry Strout, Viola Dumais, Fan Derosay, Martin Lashua and Joan Webb.

Mitch Thomas presented a musical program after the meal.

Blood drive

Fibromyalgia

LEWISTON – A workshop on fibromyalgia will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, in Room H, Central Maine Medical Center.

Dr. Ida Page, DC, will present the session on Atlas Orthogonal Care upper cervical health care. The procedure corrects the position of the top vertebrae of the spine – the Atlas. Page said by correcting the tilt, shift and rotation of the Atlas, the body is more able to overcome the effects of or even eliminate health conditions.

OES meeting

AUBURN – Pine Cone Chapter 26, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, at the Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner St.

William H. Stretton, worthy grand patron, Betty Perkins, grand Martha, and Mary Lawlor, grand representative of British Columbia and Yukon, will be honored.

Members will help a needy family at Christmas. Instead of exchanging gifts, they are asked to make a donation so the chapter can buy gifts and Christmas dinner for the family.

Pine Cone Chapter has the traveling emblem. All Eastern Star members are welcome. Refreshments will be served in the dining hall after the meeting.

LISBON FALLS – Regent Jayne Bickford announces that Burnt Meadow Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, will meet Sunday, Dec. 13, at her home. A potluck dinner will be held at noon and following the business meeting, the membership will hold the exchange of gifts and Christmas traditions and memories.

Breastfeeding

Deck the stalls

BOWDOIN – Healing Horses will present “Deck the Stalls,” a Christmas celebration for children, from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at the Triple J Farm, Route 201. Those attending can judge their favorite stall decorations. There will be pony rides, a raffle for horseback riding lessons, ornament painting and cookies and hot chocolate.
