WASHINGTON, D.C. – Sen. Susan Collins has announced her nomination of 32 Maine students as candidates to attend United States military service academies. To be considered for an appointment to a service academy, an applicant must have a nomination from an authorized nominating source, which includes members of Congress.

The following area students have received Collins’ nomination as candidates to the following service academies:

United States Military Academy, West Point, N.Y., Kyle Davis, Turner, Leavitt Area High School; Christopher Farrington, Pownal, Cheverus High School; Stephen Hennigar, Sebago, Lake Region High School; Justin Howard, Stratton, Mt. Abram Regional High School; Joshua Lewis, Gardiner, St. Dominic Regional High School; Danielle Low, Yarmouth, Greely High School; Brandon Sirois, Randolph, Gardiner Area High School.

United States Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo., Thomas Aseltine, Wilton, Mt. Blue High School; Ryan Pote, Cumberland, Greely High School.

United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md., Charles Cramer, Naples, Lake Region High School; Rachel Hudson, Wayne, St. Dominic Regional High School.
