WOODSTOCK – About 50 residents attended the annual Kick-Off to Christmas Ceremony Friday, a popular community event for many years.
The event began with the Christmas tree lighting ceremony on the Town Common. As people braved the cold night air, carols were sung and Santa made an entrance aboard one of Woodstock’s firetrucks to the delight of children.
Santa talked with children, joined the singalong and did the honors of activating the holiday lights.
After the ceremony, participants went to the Woodstock Elementary School where they had refreshments. Children also had a chance to meet with Santa there and give him their wish lists for Christmas.
