1928-2003

GREENE – Gloria Wood, 75, died Dec. 1 at her home in Bayonet Point, Fla. She was born March 30, 1928, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Irving Leiter and Minerva Pritz.

On March 13, 1947, she married Hugh K. Wood of Fort Payne, Ala., who predeceased her in 2001. They had been married 54 years.

She was an artist and writer and had been active in associations promoting the arts while living in Norwalk, Ohio, Weymouth, Mass., and Springfield, Mass. She was a past president of the Springfield chapter of Hadassah and of her homeowners association in Florida. She also held leadership positions in several civic and charitable organizations over the years.

Survivors include: three daughters, Sandra L. Daine and her husband, Perry, of Greene, Debra K. Wood of West Springfield, and Lu-Ann Morrissey and her husband, Conrad, of Agawam, Mass.; a son, Gary Steven Wood, who died in 1960; four grandchildren, Kimberli L. DiIuro and her husband, Christopher, of East Greenwich, R.I., Michael T. Glynn of Manchester, Conn., Mary-Beth Kulas and her husband, Thomas, of Agawam, and Erika Morrissey of Agawam; one great-grandchild, Jacob Thomas Kulas; and a sister, Marian Arbit of Land-o-Lakes, Florida.
