1939-2003

PORTLAND – Rachel Esther Weeks, 64, of 431 Roxbury Rd., Mexico, died Sunday, Dec. 7, at Maine Medical Center.

Born in Lisbon, Nov. 20, 1939, a daughter of Elmo and Mabel Johnston Gamache, she attended Mexico High School.

A homemaker, she loved the company of her family and will be fondly remembered by all who loved her and knew her. She enjoyed feeding birds in her backyard, adopting dogs and playing bingo.

She is survived by: her husband, Clayton E. Weeks of Mexico, whom she married Jan. 4, 1958; two sons, Clayton C. Weeks and wife, Carmen, of Oxford and Kevin E. Weeks and wife, Carole, of Rumford; two daughters, Doreen McKay and Charlene Wilson both of Lewiston; 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, her foster dad, Nery Goguen of Roxbury Pond and Florida; a brother, Roger Gamache and wife, Barbara, of Litchfield; two sisters, Eugenie Morris of Lewiston and Shirley Jones of Auburn.

She was predeceased by her parents, a sister, Mary Owensby, and a brother, Albert Gamache.
