Wilkins nets 13 in Mt. Abram win
SALEM – Briana Wilkins led Mt. Abram with 13 points as the Roadrunners rolled past the Livermore Falls Andies, 63-30, in MVC girls’ basketball Tuesday.
Emily Stinchfield chipped in 11 points for the Roadrunners (1-1).Taryn Flagg paced the Andies (0-1) with a game-high 14 points.
Rangeley 53, NYA 24
RANGELEY – Krysteen Romero and Sarah Schrader combined for 37 points to power Rangeley to a 53-24 victory over North Yarmouth Academy.
The Lakers (2-0) led the Panthers by a wide 31-6 margin at the half. Romero tallied 12 rebounds and Schrader notched three assists and three steals.
Mtn. Valley 50, Carrabec 29
NORTH ANSON – Kristen Arsenault tallied a game-high 17 points as Mountain Valley defeated Carrabec 50-29 in the MVC.
Jen Hamann chipped in 16 points for the Falcons (1-0). Mountain Valley led Carrabec 28-13 at the half. Kelly Rudman led Carrabec with 12 points.
Jay 53, Madison 29
MADISON – Freshman point guard Kaylie DeMillo garnered 23 points to lead Jay to a 53-29 MVC win over Madison.
The Tigers (2-0) rolled to a 27-11 lead through the first half into the opening minutes of the second. Sara Fetterhoff contributed 13 points.
Waynflete 68, Buckfield 20
PORTLAND – Noelle Surette drained 21 points while Khalilah Ummah chipped in 18 as Waynflete defeated Buckfield 68-20.
The Bucks (0-2) were paced by Desiree Brackett with 10 points.
Boothbay 68, Lisbon 17
BOOTHBAY – Kaitlin Garrett scored 14 points to lift Boothbay to a 68-17 MVC win over Lisbon. Krystal Doughty led the Greyhounds (0-1) with seven points in the loss.
Georges Valley 54, Monmouth 24
MONMOUTH – Georges Valley jumped out to a 16-2 lead after the first quarter and cruised past Monmouth 54-24 in the MVC.
Rachel Campbell paced Georges Valley (1-0) with 18 points. Cortney Barrett and Bianca Cloutier led Monmouth (0-1) with six points each.
Hall-Dale 48, Telstar 36
FARMINGDALE – Caitlyn Laflin netted 21 points to lead Hall-Dale to a 48-36 MVC victory over Telstar.
The Rebels (0-1) were led by Krystal Gould with 12 points and Abbey Wentworth with seven.
Oak Hill 46, Lincoln 44
WALES – Amber Chapman netted 16 points to help Oak Hill slip past Lincoln 46-44 triumph and end a 40-game winless streak in the KVAC.
Amy Quinlan chipped in eight points for the Raiders (1-1).
Lincoln Academy (0-2) was led by Alex Wajer with 11 points, while Kelsey Alley and Tasha Neal each added seven.
