1913 – 2003

AUBURN – Catherine Samocki Volock, 90, of 182 Rosedale St., Lewiston, died Tuesday evening at Bolster Heights Health Care Facility.

She was born in Lewiston on July 14, 1913, the daughter of Joseph and Sophie Tupaj Samocki. She attended St. Patrick’s School, Jordan High School, and Bliss Business College.

She was very proud of her Polish heritage and was very active in the Polish American Woman’s Club. She was a member of the Krakowianki Club and volunteered as a translator for Polish immigrants in the Lewiston area.

She was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church and a member of the Rosary Sodality of St. Patrick’s Parish.

She is survived by one daughter, Arlene Bussiere of Eustis, Fla.; one son, Robert and his wife Peggy of Old Town; a sister, Stephanie Bednarczyk and her husband Joseph of Lewiston; and four grandchildren, Ken Volock, Amy Volock, Lisa Bussiere, and David Bussiere.

She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Frank Volock.
