LIVERMORE FALLS – Water District Superintendent Doug Burdo has been authorized to begin lining up finances for the district’s portion of the reconstruction of Route 4/Main Street.

Burdo reported to the trustees Wednesday morning that he has heard that the project is scheduled for 2008. If grant money is available now, it could be held for the project, which will disrupt both water and sewer systems in Livermore Falls and Jay.

He will also continue working on the engineering reports that will be needed for the job. He is scheduled to meet Thursday with officials from both towns and the sewer department.

In other business, the board agreed to the purchase of a new computer, agreed to have Dec. 26 as a holiday (the office will close at noon on Dec. 24), and authorized Burdo to continue negotiations to obtain an easement to the woodlot on Parkhurst Pond.

They denied a request to post the Parkhurst Pond Road, not wanting to close it to recreational uses.
