1908 – 2003

MEXICO – Eva W. Hayden, 95, died Thursday, Dec. 11, at her residence on Mountain View Road in Mexico.

Born in Mexico, May 23, 1908, the daughter of George “Stub” and Edda May Bennett Morrison, she attended Mexico schools.

She worked at W.T. Grant, United Stores and K-Mart as a sales clerk over the years, until her retirement in 1958.

She was a member of the Mexico Congregational Church and the Ann Abbotts of the Church and Oozalluc Temple #88, Pythian Sisters.

She was married in Mexico in 1927 to Freeman R. Hayden Sr. who died Oct. 3, 1958 in Mexico.

Survivors include four daughters, Edda Carver and her husband Harold “Babe” of Vilano Beach, Fla. and South Arm, Marilyn Kneller, R.N. of Stuart, Fla., Mary Ann Brown and her husband John of Morganton, Ga., and Darlene K. Hayden of Mexico; 18 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Georgie Young of Mexico; and a son, Freeman Hayden Jr.
