COLUMBUS, Ohio – Doug Weight scored with 8.7 seconds left in overtime to give the St. Louis Blues a 3-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday night.

Weight rammed in a pass from Pavol Demitra seconds after Keith Tkachuk leveled Columbus defenseman Darryl Sydor in open ice. When officials did not signal an obstruction call on Tkachuk, a crowd of 17,892 booed and threw cups on the ice.

Columbus coach Doug MacLean waved his arms and walked down to the boards to protest the non-call as the officials left the ice.

The Blue Jackets’ Todd Marchant skated hard to the net on a rush and his shot was blocked by goaltender Brent Johnson before the puck was passed to Tkachuk for the goal.

Devils 3, Flyers 3

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Sami Kapanen scored a goal and set up two others to rally the Philadelphia Flyers to a 3-3 tie with the New Jersey Devils on Friday night.

Keith Primeau got the game-tying goal with less than seven minutes left in regulation and Donald Brashear also scored for the Flyers, who took 40 shots at Martin Brodeur in extending their current streak to 13-1-5.

The Flyers’ only loss in their streak was to New Jersey.

Rangers 3, Sabres 1

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Anson Carter had a goal and an assist, and Jussi Markkanen made 19 saves to lift the New York Rangers to a 3-1 victory over the Buffalo Sabres on Friday night.

Alex Kovalev and Petr Nedved also scored for the Rangers, who snapped a two-game losing streak.

Curtis Brown scored the only goal for Buffalo, which lost its fourth straight.

Mika Noronen made 31 saves for Buffalo after missing Wednesday’s game against Detroit because of a cut on his neck sustained during practice. The wound required 17 stitches to close.

Panthers 4, Canadiens 2

SUNRISE, Fla. – Viktor Kozlov, Matt Cullen and Juraj Kolnik scored third-period goals

to help the Florida Panthers snap their six-game winless streak Friday night with a 4-2 victory over the Montreal Canadiens.

Olli Jokinen also scored for the Panthers, 0-2-3-1 during their skid.

Richard Zednik and Saku Koivu scored first-period goals to give Montreal a 2-0 lead.

Thrashers 6, Penguins 3

ATLANTA – Slava Kozlov scored for the fifth straight game, tying a franchise record, and the Atlanta Thrashers won their fourth in a row by beating the Pittsburgh Penguins 6-3 Friday night.

Marc Savard added a goal and two assists, and Shawn McEachern also scored for Atlanta, which increased its lead in the Southeast Division to five points over Tampa Bay.

Serge Aubin scored an empty-net goal with 2:24 left to seal it.

Thrashers goaltender Byron Dafoe started for the second consecutive game, the first time that’s happened this season, and he won his third straight. He made 23 saves and gave up only one even-strength goal.

Stars 1, Blackhawks 0

DALLAS – Bill Guerin scored with 5:41 to play and Marty Turco made 16 saves for his 17th career shutout to help the Dallas Stars snap a five-game losing streak with a 1-0 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday night.

Guerin skated hard to the net and converted Mike Modano’s pass from the right corner for his 16th goal. It was the difference in what had been a goaltenders’ duel between Turco and Steve Passmore.

The Blackhawks pulled Passmore for an extra attacker with 1:02 left, then had a six-on-four advantage after being given a power play with 38 seconds remaining. But Chicago was unable to put pressure on Turco.

Oilers 3, Coyotes 3

PHOENIX – Radek Dvorak scored a power-play goal with 7:46 left in regulation to lift the Edmonton Oilers to a 3-3 tie with the Phoenix Coyotes on Friday night.

Daymond Langkow, Ladislav Nagy and Fredrik Sjostrom scored for the Coyotes. Ryan Smyth and Fernando Pisani also scored for Edmonton.

Edmonton is 2-6-3 in its last 11 games, and Phoenix is 3-1-2 in its last six.

Smyth scored at 15:52 of the first period to give Edmonton a 1-0 lead. Jason Smith fired a shot from the top of left circle that was stopped by Sean Burke. Smyth was camped in front of Burke, and flipped the rebound into him. Burke again made the save, but Smyth stuffed the next rebound just inside the right post.

The Coyotes recorded just two shots in the first period.

Langkow made it 1-1 with a power-play goal at 2:44 of the second period. He scored from inside the right circle off of a feed from Chris Gratton from just right of the net.

Nagy put the Coyotes up 2-1 when he redirected a shot by David Tanabe during a two-man advantage and then put in his own rebound.

Pisani redirected a shot by Scott Ferguson past Burke 6:08 into the third period right after Phoenix killed off back-to-back penalties. Sjostrom scored his first career goal at 10:21 of the third period off a pass from Jeff Taffe on a two-on-one break.

Notes: The Coyotes have one more game left in Phoenix – Monday against Minnesota. They move into their new arena in Glendale, Ariz., on Dec. 27. … Phoenix D Paul Mara sat out with the flu. … Edmonton has won only once since a four-game streak ended Nov. 20.
