1935 – 2003

LEWISTON – Robert E. Fickett, 68, a resident of Buckfield, died Thursday evening, Dec. 11, at Central Maine Medical Center following a brief illness.

He was born in New Gloucester on April 6, 1935, the son of Ernest H. and Julia E. Snow Fickett and attended the Pownal schools.

On Aug. 28, 1965, he married Sally Jordan in Lewiston.

He served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1962, stationed in Germany.

He was a woodsman for 30 years, and also worked at Pioneer Plastics for 18 years, retiring in 2000.

In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of Buckfield; a daughter, Katie L. Fickett of Buckfield; a son, Robert M. and his wife Taletha Fickett of Auburn; three brothers and their wives, Roger and Denise Fickett of Sabattus, Bruce and Deanna Fickett of Mechanic Falls, and David and Nancy Fickett of Buckfield; four sisters, Barbara Bryant of Auburn, Patricia Rogers of New Gloucester, Marilyn Tripp and her husband Rodger of New Gloucester, and Clara Neal and her husband Dean of New Gloucester; a sister-in-law, Carlene Fickett of Poland; a granddaughter, Janelle Kogut of Mechanic Falls; and a step grandson, Brayden Troupe of Auburn.

He was predeceased by a brother, Donald Fickett.
