LEWISTON – The Lewiston Center for Women, Work and Community will offer a free six-week self-esteem workshop beginning Tuesday, Jan. 6, at Lewiston-Auburn College.

The workshop, from 6 to 8 p.m., will provide people with an opportunity to understand elements of positive and negative self-esteem, develop an understanding of their own level of self-esteem and identify childhood influences and role expectations that have contributed to their level of self-esteem.

Participants will learn specific techniques for improving self-esteem, maintaining a positive self-image and identifying their own positive qualities and strengths.

The workshop will also cover techniques for assessing one’s support system and understanding ways in which they sabotage their own self-esteem. Participants will develop a written plan that includes areas they would like to change, their goals and specific steps to take.

Pre-registration is required. Call the center at 753-6622 or 1-800-442-2092 for details.
