FARMINGTON – Selectmen plan to meet with SAD 9 officials Tuesday to discuss issues of mutual concern regarding the 2004 budget process.

Selectmen are scheduled to first hold a public hearing at 6 p.m. at the municipal office on an application for a liquor license for the Homestead Bakery and Restaurant owned and operated on Broadway by Allen and Doris Danforth.

Town Manager Richard Davis said school officials proposed the meeting to discuss issues including budget and revenues.

Selectmen also plan to continue review of the town’s 2004 budget. Selectmen have identified about $53,000 in possible reductions that could be made from the proposed $3.85 million budget, Davis said.

Davis said he expects also to discuss a bill for an arrangement with the town of Strong pertaining to waste disposal. Davis said the town had neglected to bill Strong for the service and when it was discovered, sent the town a bill.

Strong has responded with a compromise amount, he said. Davis declined to say what that amount was until he talks it over with selectmen.
