Incidents

• Dec. 14, 1:12 p.m. – Caller reported seeing a coyote hanging around the Hancock and Somerset street area. Officer David Bean investigated and observed the coyote run to and cross the Swift River then head north on a snowmobile trail.

• Dec. 13, 5:49 p.m. – Altercation at Hannaford parking lot on Waldo Street resulted in the arrest of Brian E. Glover, 24, of Rumford, on a Class B felony charge of aggravated assault. He was released on $500 cash bail. An unidentified man was taken to Rumford Hospital by Med-Care Ambulance.

• Dec. 13, 3:45 a.m. and on – Owners of 13 vehicles parked overnight in vicinity of Oxford Avenue and Cumberland Street reported that several tires had been slashed.

• Dec. 13, 6 p.m. – Caller reported that two tires were slashed on two vehicles parked at the American Legion hall. Damage was estimated at $600.

• Dec. 13, 3:30 p.m. – Subject went to police station, reporting that someone had broken the mirror off his vehicle that had been parked in front of the Rumford Elks Lodge. Damage $100.

• Dec. 13, 9:31 a.m. – Caller reported that someone threw a coffee cup at an Island Realty window on Canal Street, breaking the pane.

• Dec. 12 – A Waldo Street resident reported that someone had stolen medications belonging to her and others sometime last month. According to police, the caller reported the incident a month late, because “she heard rumors that she may be accused of selling the drugs and now wants to report them as missing.”

Arrests

• Michael Rowe, 20, of Dixfield, on a Kennebec County warrant alleging failure to pay fine, on Dec. 12. He was transported to Oxford County jail in Paris.

• Timothy J. Ronan, 47, of Rumford, on a charge of disorderly conduct, on Dec. 12. He was also summoned for possession of marijuana and refusing to sign a summons. Ronan was released on $100 cash bail.

• Craig J. Blanchard, 35, of Andover, on charges of operating after suspension (habitual offender status, Class C), possession of a Schedule W drug and operating under the influence (second offense), on Dec. 12. He was released on $1,000 unsecured bail.

• George W. Merrill, 31, of Rumford, on a charge of violation of conditions of release, on Dec. 12. He was transported to Oxford County jail.

• Fred Arsenault Jr., 31, of Dixfield, on a charge of operating under the influence, on Dec. 10. He was released on $800 unsecured bail.

• Kevin P. Lawlor, 24, of Rumford, on an Androscoggin County warrant for violation of conditions of release, on Dec. 9. He was transported to Oxford County jail.

Summons

• Merle Perry, 48, of Milton Township, on a charge of operating over height restrictions, on Dec. 12. According to the summons, Perry was operating a tractor-trailer truck loaded with a high load of logs that struck the High Bridge over the Androscoggin River on the South Rumford Road.

• Joel Thompson, 21, of Rumford, on a charge of operating after suspension, on Dec. 11.
