LEWISTON – SeniorsPlus has been busy working on its annual Holiday Gift Bag Project. Volunteers for SeniorsPlus have begun wrapping small gifts that will be put into 225 holiday gift bags which have been hand-decorated by Leeds Elementary School students. These gift bags, filled with practical and useful items, will be delivered by volunteers and staff to homebound seniors living in Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford counties.
SeniorsPlus still needs help to make this project a success. Any organization or individual is invited to contribute time, appropriate items or cash for this year or next year’s project.
Anyone can become a sponsor of a gift bag with a $20 donation, which covers the cost of the gifts inside the bag. Mail donations to SeniorsPlus, P.O. Box 659, Lewiston, ME 04243. Make checks payable to SeniorsPlus.
Excess funds collected are used to support the Critical Needs Program, which is available to seniors living in Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford counties and can provide funds in emergency situations when no other resources are available.
