RUMFORD – Selectmen will act on several licenses when they meet Thursday, including one request from a soon-to-open bed and breakfast.

The regular twice-monthly meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the conference room of the Municipal Building.

Charlotte Ellis has requested an innholder’s and victualer’s license for the Ellis Guest House at 1000 Prospect Ave. near the Linnell Motel and Conference Center.

The Rumford Polar Bear Snowmobile Club is asking for a game of chance license, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Elks Lodge are requesting liquor licenses and amusement permits.

In other matters, landlord Ernie Robichaud will discuss his concerns about parking areas for tenants who live in the Waldo/Cumberland streets area.

The board will also reschedule its first meeting in January from New Year’s Day to the following week.

A public hearing is scheduled to hear comment on the proposed closure of a 300-foot section of Old Swain Road.
