1938 – 2003
PORTLAND – Annette Brown, 65, of 307 Keay Road, Sabattus, died at Maine Medical Center Thursday, Dec. 18, after a short illness.
She was born in Marlboro, Mass., on Feb. 22, 1938, the daughter of Arthur and Emilia (Michaud) Gauthier. She attended St. Antoine Grammar School and graduated from St. Anne’s Academy in Marlboro. She married Donald Brown on Dec. 14, 1956, and they moved to Sabattus in 1971.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Parish. Mrs. Brown worked as a supervisor at American Stabilis and at Digital Corp. until her retirement in 1998. Her interest included camping, gardening, sewing, cooking, crafts, yard sales, and spending the winter months at their home in Florida.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Donald Brown Sr. of Sabattus; a son, Donald Brown Jr. and his wife Joan of Bowdoin; daughters, Donna Marquis and her husband Paul, and Diane Freeman and husband Jeffrey both of Sabattus; three grandchildren, Donald Godsoe and his wife Elizabeth of New Gloucester, Rene Hoglund and husband James of Portland, and Amy Smith of Lewiston; great-grandson, Isaac Godsoe of New Gloucester; four sisters, Claire Mallett of Massachusetts, Cecile Vickers of Massachusetts, Simonne Dicenzo and her husband Paul of Florida, and Diane Valis and husband Joseph of Massachusetts; four brothers, Donald Gauthier and companion Jeannette of Florida, Roland Gauthier and wife Velma, Louis Gauthier and wife Helen and Albert Gauthier and wife Karen all of Massachusetts.
