BRUNSWICK – Leah E. Russell of Gould Road, Lisbon Falls, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, at Mid Coast Senior Health Center following a long illness.

Born in Smyrna Mills, the daughter of Andrew B. and Maud Shaw Scott, she attended local schools there. On June 8, 1940, she married Orin E. Russell.

She attended the Church of God Fellowship in Brunswick. She loved cooking, working in her flower gardens and traveling around to visit with family and friends. She also loved to go shopping and making furniture for the doll houses her husband would build. Her daughter said that no matter what, she always had a smile on her face.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years; three daughters, Linda L. Russell of Lisbon Falls, Juanita L. and her husband, Edwin Smith of Brooksville, Fla., and Sandra V. and her husband, Roy Massie of Alexandria, Va.; two sons, Blair E. and his wife, Karen Russell of Waldorf, Md., and Earl D. and his wife, Cathy Russell of Lisbon Falls; three sisters, Mabel Russell of Bowdoin, Madeline Beck of Connecticut, and Ada Carr of Island Falls; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by one brother, Earl Scott; five sisters, Pat Arnold, Doris Tuttle, Ella Bragdon, Hazel Scott and Verna Bell; and one granddaughter, Sonya Galarneau.
