Dear Sun Spots: Can you help me locate butter warmers for the holidays?

These are usually small ceramic pots above a tea light, which melts the butter for lobster and such. – Claire Hill, Wilton.

Answer:
In addition to responses from readers, contact J.R. Food Equipment Sales/Service/Parts/ 166 Kennebec Trail, Turner, (207) 225-5550. They carry several kinds of butter warmers and ceramic ramekins, and may have what you are seeking.

In the meantime, Sun Spots found some at For The Chef, 10 Trails End Road, Windham, (207) 892-8661. They are open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon and Sundays for Christmas only from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. After Christmas hours are Monday to Saturday. If going during the week, the owner arrives around 9:15 a.m. so Sun Spots would recommend you arrive a little later to allow him to get there to open the business.

Dear Sun Spots: I am an older, inspired, aspiring writer. I need a computer and printer to fulfill a lifelong dream to write short stories, or maybe a novel.

I am sure that one of your readers has a used computer and printer in their attic or cellar with my name on it. The cost is important as I am disabled and can’t work. – S.F., Lewiston.

Dear Sun Spots: When you’re desperate, write to Sun Spots!

A year or so ago I loaned a book “Oh God, Where are You?” by Abie Abraham. It is a book written by a POW of World War II who was with my brother, Robert Gould, who died as a POW in the same prison. After they were freed, Abie stayed and helped the government identify all the boys lost. In his book he wrote of my brother. I purchased the book from Abie who lives in Pennsylvania. But whoever borrowed it from me has never returned it. It is now out of print. I am hoping this will jog someone’s memory, and they will hopefully return it to me. Thank you for any help you can offer. – M. Moulton, Livermore Falls.

Dear Sun Spots: I’m looking for an instruction manual for a Revere pressure cooker. – C.H.L., Lewiston.

Answer:
If the model number you are looking for is PC 806, you should contact Fox International at 800-262-9952 to order a copy. Sun Spots has learned that the Revere line has been discontinued. Perhaps other readers familiar with this product might have a copy they’d be willing to share with you. In addition, try contacting World Kitchen Help which carried Revere and may have a copy of the manual if your cooker was manufactured within the last two years. You can reach them at 1-800-999-3436, option 2 for Revere products.
