TORONTO -Tracy McGrady scored 29 points and Juwan Howard had 20 points and 12 rebounds to help the Orlando Magic to their third straight victory, 104-93 over the Toronto Raptors on Sunday.
Drew Gooden added 14 points and 14 rebounds, and Rod Strickland had 14 points and eight assists. The Magic have won six of eight since snapping a franchise-record 19-game losing skid.
Donyell Marshall had 19 points and 19 rebounds for the Raptors in their fifth loss in six games. Vince Carter added 17 points, but had five turnovers and went to the line just twice.
Keith Bogan’s jumper over Carter gave Orlando an eight-point lead with 8:05 left, but rookie Chris Bosh helped bring the Raptors within four by grabbing two offensive rebounds and blocking a shot.
Pistons 96, Jazz 75
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – The Detroit Pistons broke 90 points for the first time since Nov. 28, getting 19 points from both Chauncey Billups and Chucky Atkins in a 96-75 victory over the Utah Jazz on Sunday night.
The win was Detroit’s second in seven games, while Utah lost for the third time in its last four.
Detroit’s three-guard rotation of Billups, Atkins and Richard Hamilton combined for 50 points. Tayshaun Prince added 18.
Carlos Arroyo (11 points) was the only Jazz player to reach double figures. Andrei Kirilenko scored with two seconds left in the first half before Ben Wallace’s long inbounds pass found Prince for a buzzer-beating layup and a 48-36 lead. Billups and Hamilton combined for 26 points in the half,
Heat 104, Warriors 93
MIAMI – Rookie Dwyane Wade scored 33 points, eclipsing the career-high he set Tuesday, as the Miami Heat defeated the Golden State Warriors 104-93 Sunday night.
Wade led five players in double figures as Miami recovered from consecutive road losses at Philadelphia and Memphis and won its fourth straight at home. Eddie Jones added 21 points and shot 9-for-10 from the field, and Lamar Odom had 11 points and 15 rebounds.
Kings 117, Blazers 98
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Peja Stojakovic hit five 3-pointers while scoring 29 points, and Vlade Divac had a season-high 26 points in the Sacramento Kings’ seventh victory in eight games – 117-98 over the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday night.
The team with the NBA’s best home record made sure Portland remained the league’s only winless road team, dropping the Blazers to 0-9 with a game-ending 21-8 run. Mike Bibby had 18 points and seven assists, while Brad Miller had 18 points and 14 rebounds in Sacramento’s 14th win in 15 home games.
Rasheed Wallace scored 27 points and Zack Randolph had 26 for the Trail Blazers, who haven’t won on the road in 12 games since April 8. As usual, Portland played well in Sacramento, but Stojakovic and Divac hit big shots down the stretch.
Divac hasn’t scored inside easily this season, but the veteran center’s crafty game was in top form against Dale Davis and the rest of the Blazers’ big men. He also shut down Randolph in the fourth quarter, holding the NBA’s seventh-leading scorer to six points.
