FARMINGTON – Mary R. Decker, of Maple Avenue, Farmington, died Saturday evening, Dec. 20, at Franklin Memorial Hospital, Farmington.
She was born Dec. 3, 1920, in Rumford, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Agatha Ruth (Ellsworth) McKenna.
Mrs. Decker was a graduate of Stephens High School in Rumford, class of 1939. She was employed for several years at the A&P in Farmington as a cashier and for Farmington Shoe. She enjoyed playing cards, cooking, baking, traveling and doing crafts.
Mrs. Decker is survived by: four sons, Kevin Cote of Pennsylvania, Alan Cote of Farmington, Robert Decker of Wilton and Lawrence Decker of Rumford; nine grandchildren, Denise Burrows, Christopher Scott Cote, Michael Cote, Ronald Cote, Scott Decker, Larry Decker, Dawn Decker, Jason Decker and Heather Decker; great-grandchildren, Brenna DeWalt, Brandon Burrows, Ashley Cote, Andrew Cote, Austin Cote; a brother, Lawrence McKenna of Rumford; a nephew, Donald Gallant of Rumford; a niece, Judy Frost of Farmington; many cousins in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by: her husband of over 42 years, Cyrus Decker who died Aug. 26, 1992, a brother, John McKenna and a sister, Rita Gallant.
