WALES – Richard H. Libby Sr., 68, a resident of Pond Road in Wales died Sunday, Dec. 21 at his home.

He was born on May 7, 1935 in Cincinnati, Oh., the son of Delbert L. and Falena Hilton Libby and attended the schools of Wales. He was a veteran of the Korean War. In 1963 he married Norma L. Soule in Lewiston. They made their home on Pond Road and also owned a home in Florida.

Richard owned and operated Lincoln Street Radiator Shop in Lewiston, which he started in 1967. He was a member and trustee of the Eagles Club, a member of the Webber Club, Cairo Club and Acme Club, also the American Legion, Post #22 of Auburn and the Ridge Riders Snowmobile Club of Wales. He was an avid Nascar fan and a memorabilia collector. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and finding bargains at Marden’s.

He is survived by: his wife of Wales; three sons and their wives, Richard, Jr. and Heidi of Greene, Gordon and Sandy of Lewiston and Danny and Deborah of Greene; a daughter, Bonnie Gallop and her companion, Norman Savard, of Lewiston; four stepchildren, Sandra Hartford and her husband, Forrest, of Standish, Brenda Bergeron of Lisbon Falls, Debra Couture and her husband, Andre, of Lisbon Falls and Patty Pomerleau of Wales; a brother Herbert Libby of Shelburne Falls, Mass.; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother Clifton Libby.
