OTISFIELD – A traditional Christmas Eve candlelight service will be held at the Spurr’s Corner Church, Route 121, at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24.

Soloists include Janelle Ravens, Katie Cotton and Adam Bartow, all of Otisfield, and Kara Bonney of Oxford. Marion Howe, professor of music at Nyack College, will provide piano accompaniment.

The church will be illuminated by candlelight and decorated with seasonal greens and ornaments. The church is handicapped accessible. For more information, call 539-4502.

Hebron Baptist Church

HEBRON – The annual Christmas Eve service at the Hebron Community Baptist Church will take place at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, earlier than usual.

Guest organist Forest Perkins will play the newly dedicated Estey reed organ, filling the 1820 sanctuary with music. The chancel choir and soloists, including Nancy Valliere, soprano, and Darlene Morrill, alto, will perform.

At the conclusion of the candlelighting and singing of “Silent Night,” all are invited to stay for refreshments in the vestry.

Congregational church

WATERFORD – A candlelight Christmas Eve service will be held at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 24, at the North Waterford Congregational Church. There will be no services on Christmas Day. Christmas worship service will be observed at 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 28.

Christ Church

NORWAY – There will be a 5 p.m. service at Christ Church, 35 Paris St., on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24. There will be readings, carols, creche, Holy Communion and special children’s message. At 11 p.m. there will be Holy Communion with selections from the choir.

The 9 a.m. service on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, will be Holy Communion. For more information, call the church at 743-6782.

Norway church

NORWAY – The Second Congregational Church will have a family candlelight service at 5:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve, and at 11 p.m. the midnight candlelight service will take place.
