NEWRY – Sunday River’s community days, which offer free or discounted prices for skiing and riding, rental equipment, clinics and food, have been announced for the 2003-2004 season.

Community days for residents of SAD 44 are Thursday, Jan. 1, Sunday, Feb. 8, and Sunday, April 4. Residents can get free skiing and riding, free rentals, a free 1st Experience Learn to Ski or Ride clinic for ages 15 and above with pre-registration required, and 50 percent off of food at resort food courts.

SAD 44 residents also are invited to the White Cap Fun Center for evenings of tubing or ice skating Thursday, Jan. 15, Thursday, Feb. 5, and Thursday, March 4.

SAD 44 includes the towns of Andover, Bethel, Greenwood, Newry and Woodstock.

For residents of SADs 17, 21 and 43, community day is Sunday, March 26. Those residents will get $10 lift tickets, $10 ski or snowboard rentals, and $10 1st Experience Learn to Ski or Ride clinics for ages 13 and above with pre-registration is required, in addition to a 50 percent discount on food.

Those districts include the towns of Rumford, Mexico, Byron and Roxbury, Canton, Carthage, Dixfield, Harrison, Hebron, Norway, Otisfield, Oxford, Paris, Waterford and West Paris.

In order to participate in community days, children’s names must be on a district list provided to Sunday River by each superintendent’s office.

Adults who wish to participate must show proof that they are residents of the eligible communities by showing a driver’s license, tax bill or other official document. People who wish to use their discount at food and beverage outlets must show a meal voucher that they will receive when they pick up their lift ticket.
