WELD – The Weld Elementary School staged a winter concert on Dec. 17 at the Town Hall.

“Seven Fat Turkeys Are We” was performed by kindergartners and first-graders Elisha Tyler, Nicholas King, Nathan Schwartz, Jaakob Lundy, Brianna Testa, Kathleen Kersey and Olivia Martin.

A Spanish and English version of “We Are Thankful” and “Must be Santa” were performed by kindergarten through third-graders, those listed previously plus Crystal Neil, Lauren Lundy, Jacob Allen, Sharon Schwartz, Charlie Martin and Caleb Allen.

The third-graders performed “Pop Goes the Weasel” and “Ice Cream Soda” on violin.

The Weld Orchestra performed “Jingle Bells” and “Open String Cycle.” Musicians were Rebecca Wade, Allayna Nering, Eric Berry, Caleb Allen, Charlie Martin and Reid Rogers.

A piece for recorders was performed by fourth-graders Eric Berry and Chelsea Frey and fifth-graders Daniel Slater, Reid Rogers, Betty Marsden and Karen Schwartz. The fourth through sixth grade string players gave a performance of “Boil Them Cabbage Down.” The boys performed “Hoopster,” a rap basketball routine.

The fourth through sixth grade chorus, including those already mentioned plus Chelsea Frey, Betty Marsden, Daniel Slater, Karen Schwartz, Sydney Luc, Seth Berry, Cody Austin, Matthew St. John and Tash Doughty, performed a rock and roll version of “Frere Jacque,” “Snowflakes,” “Winter Wonderland,” “Little Blue Top,, “Sing of Peace” and “Winter Fantasy.”
