WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Olympia J. Snowe (R-Maine) announces that she has nominated 33 Maine students to U.S. service academies.

Each academy will make its appointments from the pool of nominees. Area students named were:

Rachel Hudson of Wayne, St. Dominic Regional High School of Auburn.

Abigail Lafond of Harpswell, Mount Ararat High School of Topsham.

U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo.

Thomas Aseltine of Wilton, Mount Blue High School of Farmington.
