BRIDGTON – Bridgton Hospital obstetrics nurse Crystal Coen, RN, BSN, certified lactation counselor, will offer a breastfeeding class from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5.
The class is open to any mother-to-be who would like to learn more about breastfeeding. Women who attend are encouraged to bring their support person to the class.
Topics that will be covered include the benefits of breastfeeding, along with the basic skills and techniques during the first days of breastfeeding. Fee is $10. The class will be held in the clinic lobby, which is closed to the public in the evening.
Coen has completed her lactation counselor trailing. As a certified counselor, she will provide in-depth information, support and on-going education for mothers-to-be in the service area, and will offer ongoing support for mothers who are breastfeeding. Bridgton Hospital also offers Medela hospital-grade pump rentals.
