Take a pinch of “Married by America,” add a dash of “The Joe Schmo Show,” throw in a jigger of “Trista and Ryan’s Wedding” and mix it all in a glass lined with “Average Joe” and you have the entirely original formula for Fox’s latest reality entry “My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance.” Advocacy groups for the big, the fat and the obnoxious should stand ready to be offended by the six-episode series, which will launch Jan. 19.

Fox can be confident that “My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance” will find an initial audience. The network is premiering the show at 9 p.m. EST after the premiere of the third installment of “American Idol.” It will continue in the time slot which once nurtured “Joe Millionaire,” “Married by America” and “Mr. Personality.”

“MBFOF” comes from the good people at Rocket Science Laboratories and was nurtured by Fox’s own reality mad scientist Mike Darnell.

Claudia DiFolco, most recently seen on Fox’s “Anything for Love,” will host.

ABC seeking

suitable twins

ABC loves football on TV, shots of Gina Lee, hanging with its friends … and twins.

The network is looking for identical twin sisters to star in the pilot for the potential new incarnation of the classic “Parent Trap” franchise. Coors Light twins Diane and Elaine Klimaszewski probably need not apply.

While trick photography, process shots and body doubles were used to make audiences see a double dip of Hayley Mills in Disney’s 1961 film and Lindsay Lohan in the studio’s 1998 remake, producers are looking for real-life twins for the television pilot. Touchstone TV and Tollin/Robbins Prods. are launching a six-week long, five city search for their new stars.

Producers seek twin sisters between the ages of 11 and 15 to star. An open casting call will be held Jan. 10 at Ripley Greer Studios in New York City. Other auditions will be held in be held in L.A., Chicago, Vancouver and Toronto.

Life’s a parade

for TV tandem

When the cameras aren’t running do Trista and Ryan just go into hibernation? Are there moments in that couple’s life that television audiences have missed out on?

The former “Bachelorette” and her partner in life (as well as televised special events) will ride in the Tournament of Roses Parade on the FTD float.

The symmetry of Trista and Ryan surrounded by roses is not lost on FTD Inc’s Chairman and CEO Bob Norton.

“The FTD brand has been synonymous with flowers for almost a century, going hand in hand with romantic stories along the way. Reality TV’s favorite newlywed couple Trista and Ryan are a tribute to the floral industry, having first accepted each other’s love through the exchange of simply one rose,” Norton notes. “Our float entry in the 2004 Rose Parade celebrates love and romance through not one, but a record-breaking 100,000 roses surrounding Trista and Ryan on the float.”

The theme of this year’s parade is “Music, Music, Music” and Trista and Ryan’s float is dubbed “FTD Love Songs.”
