1949 – 2003

ROCKVILLE, Conn. – Bruce Alvin Thurlow, 54, of Woodstock, died suddenly Dec. 23, in Rockville, Conn. He was born in Norway, on May 17, 1949, the son of Leslie and Patricia (Baker) Thurlow. He was educated in local schools and graduated from Woodstock High School class of 1967, where he was active in sports playing baseball and basketball. He later played baseball with the Pine Tree League.

After graduating, he joined the Army and served from 1968 to 1971 serving in Germany and Vietnam. He loved life, was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish as well as snomobiling and traveling.

In his younger years he was a member of the 4-H and showed his animals at all the local fairs. He especially enjoyed the time he spent with his grandparents, Myrte and Arthur Thurlow.

He had worked at several local businesses including Hadley Excavation, Andover Wood Products, Don Mason Excavating, Speedway Inc., and at the time of his death was with Schiavi Leasing.

He is survived by his parents of Woodstock; his wife, Kathleen of Woodstock; one daughter, Tina Marie Hall of Knobnoster, Mo.; one brother, Mark Thurlow and his wife Kim of Woodstock; two sisters, Leslye Hewitt and her husband William of Seabrook, N.H., and Lisa Thurlow of Woodstock; three grandchildren, Lindsay Bean, Jordan Bean and Caleb Hall; two nephews, Jonah Thurlow and Neil Thurlow of Woodstock; two nieces, Kara Thurlow of Woodstock and Heather Hewitt of Seabrook, N.H.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by one brother, Stuart Thurlow in 1986.
