DURHAM – On a 3-0 vote, with two members not voting, selectmen agreed to place an article on the March town meeting warrant at the request of Curtis Pass.

It recommends that voters accept as town roads three subdivision roads: Deervale Road, Cottagewoods Road (phase 1) and Turkey Ridge.

Greene:

Town to seek bids on library addition

GREENE – Selectmen voted Monday night to seek bids on the first phase of the expansion of the Julia Adams Morse Memorial Library.

The two-phase project has been in the planning stages for more than a year. The bidding process for Phase 1 will begin Jan. 19. The town will open bids on Feb. 13.

Phase 1 is the construction of a two-story addition to the library and 2,500 square feet of interior work on the first floor. A date was not set for a bidding process for Phase 2 for the interior, second-floor work.

Greene:

Payment OK’d

for fire station

GREENE – Town Manager Stephen Eldridge told the Board of Selectmen on Monday that about $146,000 will be carried forward into 2004.

The money was budgeted for various programs and not spent.

Also, the board authorized a $43,000 payment to Glen Builders of North Conway, N.H., for work completed at the new fire station.

The town held that payment until a roof leak was fixed. Eldridge said the town currently owes $28,000 to the general contractor.

Sabattus:

Regular schedule resumes Monday

SABATTUS – The municipal building will close Jan. 1 and 2 in observance of the New Year’s holiday.

Regular hours will resume Jan. 5.
