1929 – 2003

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Edda May Carver, 74, of St. Augustine, Fla., died Dec. 30, at Flagler Hospital.

She was born March 22, 1929, in Rumford, she was treasurer and chief financial officer of Newton & Tebbetts, Inc. in Bethel and had lived in St. Augustine since her retirement in 1990.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a past matron in Bethel. She was a Congregationalist. Her hobbies included making stained-glass fixtures, quilting and sewing and gardening. She enjoyed her retirement in Florida, and Maine, and especially enjoyed family visits, outings with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and walks on the beach. She was noted for her gracious hospitality.

Survivors include her husband, Harold E. Carver of St. Augustine; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Robert Gilbert of Wilton; sons and daughters-in-law, Harold E. Jr. and Judy Carver of Brunswick and Lloyd and Melanie Carver and Barry and Claire Carver, all of Bethel; sisters, Marilyn Kneller of Stuart, Fla., Maryann Brown of Morganton, Ga., and Darlene Hayden of Mexico; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
