1919 – 2003

LEWISTON – Hilda Ann Beedy, 84, of Stetson Road, Auburn, formerly of Hartford, for 60 years where she and her husband Bradford owned and operated their dairy farm, died peacefully with her daughter by her side on Dec. 30, in Lewiston.

She was born in Cambridge, Mass., on March 6, 1919, the daughter of Joseph and Florentina (Perry) Silva. She was educated in Cambridge schools and graduated from Arlington High School class of 1938, and later graduated from Miss Sherman Secretarial School.

She had been married to Bradford Beedy for 56 years. He died on Jan. 12, 1996.

She was a member and former Elder, Deacon and organist of the North Turner Union Presbyterian Church and was very active in many church ladies groups as well as the Twin County Extension. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother and friend.

She loved to cook and knit and had a great love for music and playing the organ and also enjoyed reading and playing bridge.

She is survived by two sons, Clayton Aaron Beedy of Lewiston and Ronald Beedy and his wife Barbara of Livermore; one daughter, Priscilla Nadeau and her husband Clifton of Turner; one sister, Louise Linehan of Beverly, Mass.; seven grandchildren, Heidi Naylor and her husband Mick and Heather Nadeau Waite and her husband Stan all of Turner, Gregory Nadeau and his wife Nycole of Brunswick, Gretchen Bellegarde and her husband Gary of Turner, Brad Beedy of Manchester, N.H., Jonathan Beede and his wife Felicity of Brunswick and Thomas Beedy of Manchester, N.H.; eight great-grandchildren, Ashley, Alexandra and Brock Naylor, Caela and Kristen Waite, Tyler Nadeau, Eliza Bellegarde and Randy Beede; and a special friend and companion, Stan Faulke.

She was predeceased by four brothers, Herbert, Thomas, Joseph and Fred; and three sisters, Helen, Marion and Florence.
