1936 – 2004

LEWISTON – Richard St. Peter, 67, a resident of Monroe Street in Livermore Falls, died Friday, Jan. 2, at Central Maine Medical Center following a short illness.

He was born in Millinocket Sept. 12, 1936, the son of Henry V. and Gertrude E. Mackin St. Peter and attended the schools of Lincoln.

He served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958.

On Oct. 22, 1962, he married Lita M. Reed of Lincoln.

He worked as a meat cutter and in 1962 took over managing Lincoln Market which had belonged to his father. He later worked for Guiguere’s in Livermore Falls and Sampson’s Super Market, which was later known as Shop and Save in Livermore Falls.

He was also owner and operator of St. Peter’s Bar & Grill in Lincoln. He retired in 2000 from the Franklin Press in Farmington.

He attended St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. He was a life member of the Lane-Dube Amvets, Post #33 of Jay and a member of the Hillside Sports Club of Jay.

He is survived by his wife of Jay; two daughters, Barbara E. Richard and her husband David of Jay, and Jean M. Burnham also of Jay; two sisters, Barbara Gillot and her husband Michael of Connecticut, and Jacqueline Birmingham and her husband Ralph, also of Connecticut; two grandchildren, Brandon Richard and Michael Burnham.

He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Larry Burnham.
