FARMINGTON – Artist Barbara Hathaway of Wilton will instruct in watercolor art for the spring SAD 9 Adult Education program. The eight-week course will start Monday, Jan. 26, and will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Students from beginners to semi-pro will enjoy achieving control of watercolor washes and developing a composition that they can frame. Students are encouraged to develop their own style as they explore use of brushes, types of paper and techniques. To register, call the adult education office at 778-2971. A materials list will be provided upon registration.
Hathaway holds a Certificate of Advertising Design from the University of Maine at Augusta and teaches watercolor art, oil painting wet-on-wet technique, pastel, illustrating children’s books and mosaic tile art for adult education programs. The artist works in various mediums including sculpture and has had artwork shown on community access television. New art pieces are ready for exhibit and the artist is looking for an assistant to help in several areas.
