RUMFORD – Selectmen will hear of the local hospital’s multimillion-dollar plans for renovation when they meet on Thursday.

The regular meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the conference room of the Municipal Building.

Rumford Hospital’s Chief Executive Officer John Welsh unveiled a two-phase master plan last month that includes remodeling the main entrance and emergency room during 2004.

The second, more-costly and extensive phase, may begin within five years. It would include reconfiguring or combining inpatient units and building an addition to the rear of the newer section of the 75-year-old hospital.

Also on Thursday, the board will discuss winter parking with landlord Ernest Robichaud, open bids for three tax-acquired properties and act on a junkyard license and a taxicab license.
