TOWNSHIP 5 RANGE 9, Maine (AP) – A Houlton man was killed Monday when an oncoming logging truck spilled a load of logs into his path.
Maine State Police identified the victim as Tony Jay, 29.
Jay was driving a minivan on Route 11 north of Brownville when the accident occurred about 3:10 p.m., according to Maine State Police dispatcher Phil Moody.
Moody said the truck driver, Cleveland Richardson of Wytopitlock, apparently overcorrected his truck for an oncoming vehicle, causing the logs to spill into the road.
The accident is still under investigation, Moody said.
