PRESQUE ISLE (AP) – Police arrested a Presque Isle man Tuesday in connection with a hit-and-run accident that killed a 50-year-old woman, police said.

Bradley L. Pelham, 48, of Presque Isle, was charged with leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle accident, said Presque Isle police Officer Kevin Schumacher.

Pelham is accused of driving his pickup truck Sunday afternoon into the rear of a Honda Civic driven by Susan Rundle of Presque Isle. The impact caused Rundle’s car to leave the road and crash head-on into a tree.

Pelham is charged with leaving the accident and driving home, where police found him an hour later. Rundle died at The Aroostook Medical Center.

Police are waiting for blood tests to come back from the state Medical Examiner’s Office and for a reconstruction report from the Maine State Police. Schumacher said more additional charges may be filed.
