PARIS – The Oxford Hills Music Department will hold open auditions for its school-community show, “Annie Get Your Gun.” This Irving Berlin show as revised by Peter Stone will be performed April 1-4 at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.

Auditions are scheduled 6:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, and Monday, Jan. 12, in the music wing of the high school.

Book director Kenn Sawyer and musical director Beth Bare-foot Jones said they will be auditioning for:

Frank Butler, a leading man type age 30 or so who is a good singer; Buffalo Bill Coty, 40 years old or more, owner of the Wild West Show and an average to good singer; Dolly Tate, 25 years or more and Frank’s assistant who fancies herself to be Frank’s girlfriend, an average to good singer; Tommy Keeler, 20 years or so, a knife thrower and average to good singer; Winnie Tate, approximately 17, Dolly’s sister and Tommy’s girlfriend, an average to good singer; Charlie Davenport, age 50 or so, company manager and an average singer; Annie Oakley, 25, the leading lady and a sharpshooter, who goes from hillbilly to performer, a good singer; Annie’s sisters and brother: Jessie, 14, Nellie, 12, Jake, 10; Fester Wilson, age 40 or so, Buffalo Bill’s competitor and wannabe look alike.

There are also parts for various cowboys, Indians, townspeople and royalty. Auditioners should be ready to sing. FMI: call 743-8914, ext. 1015.
