While reading the paper, I could not help but notice the Interstate 95 coverage regarding the new route designation. I thought it was a good idea to redesign the route designation numbers. Yet it did bring out my frustrations regarding the lack of exits between Gray and Gardiner, which I feel could benefit over 200,000 people.
I also cannot hide my jealously regarding 17 exits surrounding the greater Portland area and the six exits surrounding the greater Bangor area.
I think that the Maine Turnpike Authority needs to focus more attention to the “old 495” area by increasing more access to the turnpike by building more exits to accommodate the citizens of central Maine and the western foothills.
