LEWISTON – The Veterans of Foreign War Post 9150 and Auxiliary presented Voice of Democracy awards to Lisa Kimball, Lewiston High School, and Tyler Baril, Edward Little High School, on Nov. 30.

The students received a plaque, certificate and $125 for their winning essays. This year’s theme was “My Commitment to America’s Future.” Their essays have been forwarded to the district contest.

The National Veterans of Foreign Wars each year award scholarships amounting to $143,500, with $25,000 going to first place.
