There should be stricter laws for prohibiting teens from having alcohol. There are many things that people should know about this subject. People need to know the effects alcohol has on both teens and adults.

There are many ways of getting facts about this subject, the following will help you get a better understanding of alcohol and its effects. According to the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse, almost 80 percent of high school students have tried alcohol. In an average month, about 9 million American teens will have one or more drinks of alcohol. Alcohol leads to a loss of coordination, poor judgment, blackouts, slower reflexes and distorted vision.

Each year, college students will spend $5.5 million on alcohol. That’s more than they spend on soft drinks, milk, juice, tea, coffee and books combined. A “binge” drinker is someone who drinks five or more drinks on occasion. About 15 percent of teens are binge drinkers every month.

I believe that people should take more action about teens and alcohol. I think adults should take this subject seriously and talk to teens about alcohol. They should tell teens that alcohol can, and most likely will, really hurt them and what some of the side effects and consequences are. I think that adults should ask their teens what they have been doing if they suspect that their child is drinking alcohol. I believe that there will be less deaths if, people take action about this subject.
