FARMINGTON – The annual meeting for Positive Turning Points for Youth will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, at the University of Maine at Farmington, North Dining Hall.

Melissa Clawson, associate professor of early childhood education at UMF will present a project she did for the Kerr House, a program of Positive Turning Points.

Positive Turning Points assists youth who are in crisis with their living situation, especially those who are displaced or homeless.

Rabies clinic

LIVERMORE – A rabies clinic will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 17, at the Livermore Fire Station. A cost of $9 per dog or cat will be charged.

Self-esteem

FARMINGTON – Maine Centers for Women, Work and Community will offer a six-week self-esteem class from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays, starting Jan. 27 and ending March 9, at 108 Perham St.

Participants will learn ways to challenge old, destructive beliefs and nourish positive thoughts and feelings about themselves. This supportive workshop will give them the tools to start living a rich and rewarding life.

King service

FARMINGTON – The Farmington Area Ecumenical Ministry will host its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Memorial Service starting at noon Monday, Jan. 19, at Trinity United Methodist Church on Route 2 East. Firefighter meeting

TEMPLE – The Franklin County Firemen’s Association will meet at 7 p.m. Jan. 21 at the Temple Town Hall. County firefighters, guests and interested people are invited to attend. The regular business meeting will be followed by the guest speaker, refreshments and ae drawing for door prizes. Representation from all departments is requested.
