LOCKE MILLS – Second District American Legion Auxiliary President Elaine Rogers attended a recent meeting of Jackson-Silver Post Auxiliary.

President Martha Stowell read the names of people who had purchased light bulbs. The trees will remain lit until Four Chaplains Day in February.

A donation was voted for a Telstar group of six students who will be traveling to Washington, D.C., in the spring.

Members divided names and addresses of young men and women from the area serving in the military and cards were sent to them.

Three senior members and one junior member went to the Veterans Home in South Paris to help residents pick out free gifts for their loved ones and to wrap them.

Names of veterans at Ledgeview Living Center were asked for along with suggestions for suitable gifts and also those from the Bethel/Greenwood, Woodstock and West Paris area who are residents of the Veterans Home. There were 10 at Ledgeview and eight at the Veterans Home for whom gifts were purchased, wrapped and delivered a couple of days before Christmas. This was made possible with funds realized from the people who purchased the light bulbs for the trees at the Legion Hall.
