BANGOR – NALS of Maine, formerly known as The Maine Association of Legal Support Staff, will hold its 2004 Winter Education and board meeting Jan. 16-18 at The Brewster House Bed & Breakfast, Main Street, Freeport.

On Jan. 16, attorney F. Bruce Sleeper will discuss bankruptcy from the creditor’s perspective. He will cover how a bankruptcy affects a creditor’s course of action as well as review the gamut of actions that a creditor can take from small claims to motions for relief from stay.

On Jan. 18, attorney Terence Harrigan will speak on the topic of federal criminal defense law. His presentation will include a discussion of the federal sentencing guidelines, the Speedy Trial Act and the stark difference between the State and Federal systems.
