I spent many years traveling in the woods of Maine when a resident of the state and have always seen bear without bait or dogs. I have worked with old time Maine guides back in the 40s and 50s and if they were still alive in the 80s and 90s, they would have been ashamed of the way bear were hunted.

If the current “guides” would learn about the bear they wouldn’t need bait or dogs to get bear.

Thanks to some of the people in Maine for attempting to correct this problem.
