NEWRY – The Oxford County Mineral and Gem Association is holding a series of workshops at the home of Norm Davis in Newry. The meetings are from 2 to 4 p.m. Sundays, Jan. 18, Feb 1, 15 and 29, and March 7.

People may bring mineral specimens for identification, learn how stones are cut and polished to make jewelry, make a pair of earrings, a bracelet or a necklace, or have a geode sawed in half.
